Highlights for the 2000-01 Annual Report included the following:
- Developed the Dynamic Tram Fairway system along Toorak Road in South Yarra;
- Implemented the four year Statewide Route Numbering Scheme;
- Completed more than 300 projects designed to assist disabled people in using the road system, including public transport services;
- 187 projects to improve accident blackspots throughout Victoria were completed or underway;
- Signed a landmark cultural heritage and environmental agreement with Yorta Yorta Nation for the Murchison East Deviation project on the Goulburn Valley Highway; and
- Completed the $53m project to upgrade the Goulburn Valley Highway between the Hume Freeway and Nagambie in April 2001.
