The VicRoads 2004–05 Annual Report records the activities, achievements and delivery of Government policy by VicRoads from 1 July 2004 to 30 June 2005. It provides a report on VicRoads operations and its financial statements for the period.

Some of the key highlights for the year include:

• contribution to the management of a road safety program resulting in a Victorian road toll which is 11.5 per cent below the average for the previous three years
• completion of the roll-out of the School Speed Zones program at more than 2400 primary and secondary schools in Victoria
• completion of more than 60 individual projects for the Government’s Tram Priority Program – Think Tram
• completion of 156 projects, including outer metropolitan road improvements, under the Better Roads Victoria program
• opening of the first section of the Craigieburn Bypass, between the Metropolitan Ring Road at Thomastown and Cooper Street at Epping
• commencement of design and pre-construction planning for the $150 million upgrade of the Tullamarine–Calder Freeway Interchange
• the launch of VicRoads 10-year Environment Strategy.
