VicRoads purpose is to deliver social, economic and environmental benefits to communities throughout Victoria by managing the Victorian arterial road network and its use as an integral part of the overall transport system.
VicRoads is structured around nine divisions:
Responsible for corporate services including finance, risk management, compliance, contract services, business planning, legal services and records management activities.
Provides technical services, maintains technical capability and provides information and data systems.
Responsible for customer service, media, corporate planning, legislation and external relationships.
Delivers major road projects and looks after our environmental footprint.
Works with managers and staff to develop our capabilities.
Develops initiatives to best manage the network and reduce congestion.
Responsible for road safety and registration and licensing policies and programs; and the efficient and safe movement of heavy vehicles.
Responsible for the maintenance, operation and improvement of the arterial road network across the state.
Responsible for managing the State’s commercial arrangements in relation to Victoria’s toll roads, specifically CityLink and ultimately EastLink, and VicRoads contractual arrangements..
