Corporate Communications manages media and external communications, including operation of VicRoads website and web 2.0.
VicRoads has won many marketing and communications awards.
Corporate Communications is comprised of three teams, including Strategic Communications, Media and Website.
The Media team is responsible for protecting and enhancing the image of VicRoads through proactive and reactive communication with both metro and regional newspapers, radio stations and television networks. It is also responsible for:
- preparing media releases, speeches and communication strategies
- managing issues that could impact on reputation or achievement of strategic objectives
- organising both VicRoads and ministerial media events and activities
- providing media and communications advice to executives, staff and ministerial advisers
- negotiating with key stakeholders, including the Minister's Office, in the management of emerging issues
- reporting timely traffic information to the public
- analysing the impact of media activity.
The Marketing, Communications and Design Team manages targeted communication to specific audiences and road user groups, manages the brand and VicRoads sponsorships.
The team is responsible for:
coordinating strategic communication behavioural campaigns like Share the Road
providing external communication and advertising advice to business areas
managing sponsorships and affiliations like Bicycle Victoria
writing, designing and producing corporate publications
managing the VicRoads brand and researching public perceptions and attitudes.
The design studio team can provide art direction, design, layout and organise print and delivery of publications and communication products.

The Web and Online Engagement Team is responsible for VicRoads digital publishing initiatives. Central to the role is the management of the VicRoads Website.
The team is responsible for:
understanding the expectations of our customer's online needs for information
providing expert advice to business areas relating to digital engagement and publishing
assisting internal areas with writing, design and usability advice
meeting best practice web standards
coordinating the publishing of information to the VicRoads website
the development of VicRoads use of Social Media tools such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter
Dionne has over 23 years experience in communications in the private sector and state and commonwealth governments, including as the Media Manager for V/Line and the National Competition Council.
Dionne has led VicRoads communications since 2006 and is responsible for managing the strategic communications and marketing, media and web & online engagement teams.
Dionne has a Master of Arts from Swinburne University and is a qualified coach.
