The registration of the boat can be suspended by VicRoads if directed by Marine Safety Victoria (MSV).

Marine Safety Victoria can suspend a boat's registration if it is satisfied that the boat has deficiencies or defects and does not comply with the Marine Act 1998 or the relevant regulations.
