A notice in the Victoria Government Gazette Special No. 55 - 20 April 2001 provides a general exemption for laden trailers with up to 5 metres rear overhang.
Greater rear overhangs, up to 9 metres, will be exempted by permit. A progressive increase in the requirements for warning devices and increased travel restrictions applies as the rear overhang increases.
