Information Management Services, via the Road Information Services section, provides comprehensive traffic, road asset and road safety data management and information consultancy services.
Road Information Services (RIS) is a well established business, and is considered an industry leader in the management of road and traffic information. RIS has access to comprehensive historic, current and real-time data, and utilises leading-edge technologies in the collection, management, analysis and reporting of its information, which can be integrated and customised to best meet the needs of its clients.

- Traffic Data Collection - including traffic volumes, vehicle classification counts, vehicle mass, vehicle speed and travel time data. A variety of traffic technologies are utilised including a large network of inductive loops in the road, pneumatic tubes, weigh-in-motion sites, video, laser, GPS, and manual counts. Below is an example of the utilisation of Traffic Data.
- Information Systems - develop and manage information systems and applications for validating, storing, analysing and reporting traffic information.

- Road Condition - including the automated collection of pavement roughness, rutting, texture, cracking and road geometry data using laser profilometer and high resolution video equipment (see image below).
- Bridge and Structure Condition - manage level 2 condition inspections of bridges, culverts and other structures.
- Road Asset Location - including the collection and management of location details of road assets along the road network.
- Information Systems - development and management of information systems and applications for validating, storing, analysing and reporting road asset information.
