Work experience for secondary school students

Each year VicRoads provides work experience opportunities for secondary school students.

VicRoads work experience placements give students the opportunity to experience the relationship between school studies and the world of work, develop a greater awareness of their abilities and help them make appropriate career choices.

VicRoads offers work experience in areas such as:
  • Engineering
  • Finance / Accounting
  • Human Resources
  • Legal
  • Graphic Design
  • Media / Communications
  • Information Technology

VicRoads partners with the student and the secondary school to agree on appropriate work experience.
Students will experience different aspects of work within their area of interest and assist with tasks allocated by their supervisor. The supervisor will set a structured learning plan and provide feedback to the student and school upon completion of the arrangement.

The secondary school must provide the appropriate work experience documentation before any placement commences.

Applications for the 2012 Work Experience Program are now open and close on Wednesday 31 October 2012.
