Concessional Mass Limits

In Victoria, transport operators accredited under the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) Mass Management module are able to operate certain vehicles with tandem-axle or tri-axle groups at Concessional Mass Limits (CML).

The mass benefit allowed under CML is dependent on a number of conditions set out in the information update.

For example, a vehicle combination comprising a prime mover and tri-axle semi-trailer may be allowed a gross mass increase of up to 1.0 tonne.
