New or experienced transport operators need answers about which vehicle is appropriate to accomplish their particular freight transport task. An information bulletin has been published to aid in the selection or operation of vehicles in accordance with the regulatory requirements. 

Vehicles within these limits may travel on roads throughout Victoria unless there is a sign that prohibits travel. 

The bulletin includes diagrams and provides clear and comprehensive advice to transport drivers and other road users on the size and weight that conventional trucks and trailers can operate and may be useful for assisting with Chain of Responsibility requirements. You'll find information covering height, width, individual vehicle length and vehicle combination length, projections and overhangs, axle weights and gross mass. There is also a step-by-step process to assist in calculating the maximum for your vehicle.

The bulletin does not cover the size and weight of vehicles that operate under restrictions.
