Latest construction works

M80 Ring Road between Tullamarine Freeway and Pascoe Vale Road:

• The first concrete deck for the new flyover ramp from the Tullamarine Freeway city bound to the M80 Ring Road Altona bound has been poured.
• Work on the underpass that forms part of the new exit ramp from the M80 Ring Road Greensborough bound to Pascoe Vale Road, just east of Tullamarine Freeway, is continuing. The bridge has been built and the current focus is on earthworks to build up the approach lanes over the underpass.
• New pavement and retaining walls are being built between Tullamarine Freeway and the Katrina Drive pedestrian crossing. Further asphalt works along this section of new road will take place in late May
• The noise wall at Gladstone Park is essentially complete.  A small gap remains to provide workers access to the back of the noise walls.
• Installing large concrete panels on the retaining wall before the new bridge over Moonee Ponds Creek.
• Work to increase the flood storage capacity of Moonee Ponds Creek (pictured below) is well underway. This work is being done in conjunction with Melbourne Water and includes excavating and reshaping the earth, fencing and landscaping.

• The new noise wall between Moonee Ponds Creek and Langton Street is complete.
• Widening on the entry ramp from Pascoe Vale Road to M80 Ring Road Altona bound (pictured below) is continuing and includes reshaping of the earth, tree removal and the construction of retaining walls underneath Langton Street.

New bridge over Moonee Ponds Creek:

• The main bridge structure over Moonee Ponds Creek is complete.
• One lane is now open to traffic on the new bridge. This lane forms the exit ramp to Pascoe Vale Road. Drivers should note changed exit conditions and prepare to exit earlier.
• Upcoming works on the bridge include finishing concrete barrier installation and asphalt works in preparation for the opening of new traffic lanes in the middle of the year.
• Work is progressing well to connect the new bridge with the existing Greensborough bound carriageway, near where the old Pascoe Vale Road exit was located (pictured below). Current and upcoming works include construction of the new road, drainage installation and asphalting.

• Some earth is being reused in an area north east of M80 Ring Road and Moonee Ponds Creek. The earth is being shaped to improve the slope of the hill for better recreational use and will be landscaped later in the project in consultation with Hume City Council. Residential sightlines will be maintained.
