The Road Design Notes supplement the Austroads Guide to Road Design and VicRoads Supplement to the Austroads Guide to Road Design.

These Road Design Notes specify VicRoads individual requirements regarding a range of road design issues including road furniture.

The Austroads Guide to Road Design was released on 1 July 2009. VicRoads transitioned to using the Austroads Guide as its primary design reference on 1 July 2010.  VicRoads specific supporting information to the Austroads Guide has been prepared as VicRoads Supplements.

Road Design Notes are cross references to these VicRoads Supplements to the Austroads Road Design Guides:

  • VicRoads Supplement to the AGRD Part 3 – Geometric Design
  • VicRoads Supplement to the AGRD Part 5 – Drainage Design
  • VicRoads Supplement to the AGRD Part 6 – Roadside Design, Safety and Barriers
  • VicRoads Supplement to the AGRD Part 6A – Pedestrians and Cyclist Paths
  • VicRoads Supplement to the AGRD Part 6B – Roadside Environment
