As part of the M1 upgrade, the following closures will be in place on the Monash Freeway between Friday 3 July and Tuesday 7 July:
Burke Road in-bound ramp closures
The Burke Road in-bound entry and exit ramps to the Monash Freeway will be closed on the following:
- Friday 3 July between 10:00pm and 4:00am
- Saturday 4 July between 10:00pm and 4:00am
- Sunday 5 July between 10:00pm and 4:00am
- Monday 6 July between 10:00pm and 4:00am
Detours will be in place via Toorak Road.
South Gippsland Freeway to Jacksons Road
Jacksons Road to EastLink in-bound and out-bound right and middle lanes will be closed on the following:
- Sunday 5 July between 7:30pm and 5:00am
Gladstone Road to the South Gippsland Freeway in-bound will be reduced to one lane on the following:
- Monday 6 July from 8:00pm and 5:00am.
The Heatherton Road in-bound entry and exit ramps will be closed during these works. A detour will be in place via Stud Road.
Stud Road
Stud Road out-bound left lane will be closed on the following:
- Tuesday 7 July between 8:00pm and 5:00am

- Full intersection closure on Saturday 4 July from 9:30am and 3:30pm
- Full intersection closure on Sunday 5 July from 9:30am and 3:30pm
- Full intersection closure on Saturday 11 July from 9:30am and 3:30pm.
- Lane closures from Friday 3 July to Wednesday 15 July (between Monday and Saturday) between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm.
The closures are due to improvement works and a 40km/h speed limit will remain in place once works are complete.

VicRoads wishes to advise drivers and pedestrians of a full closure of Diggers Rest-Coimadai Road at the bridge over Djerriwarrh Creek from 29 June until mid-September 2009.

The detours will be.
Melton-bound:
Drivers are advised to detour along Bacchus Marsh-Gisborne Road down the Western Highway to Coburns Road.
Moorrabool-bound:
Drivers are advised to detour along Gisborne-Melton Road to the Western Highway.
The closure is part of construction of the $2.1 million upgrade of the bridge over Djerriwarrh Creek.

The changed traffic conditions, which will include single lane closures, will begin on 26 May and will be completed by early July 2009.
For the duration of the works B-doubles travelling north or south on the Goulburn Valley Highway will be permitted to use Wyndham Street as an alternative route to avoid delays.
VicRoads has variable message signs and signposted speed limits to alert drivers to the changed conditions.

The following closure will be in place throughout early May and late July 2009:
Church Street Bridge
- lane closures with one lane remaining open to traffic in either direction
- Right turns from Church Street south-bound into Alexandra Avenue towards the City will be prohibited during the works
The lane closures are due to restoration works.

VicRoads advises drivers of road works and delays on Chapel Street, South Yarra until the end of August.
The left lane heading south will be closed between Malcolm Street and Daley Street due to building construction work. One lane will be closed over the Church Street Bridge until late July during restoration works.

VicRoads has been working with the developer to minimise delays for trams and other vehicles, and different traffic management setups will be used at different times of day.
During morning and afternoon peak times trams will be given a dedicated lane along this section of Chapel Street to minimise delays. Outside of peaks, Malcolm Street will be closed periodically.
Local detours will be in place and drivers are asked to avoid this section of Chapel Street where possible.

Drivers are advised the speed limit on the Bolte Bridge is reduced to 80 km/h to facilitate works as part of the Monash-CityLink-West Gate (M1) upgrade.
The new 80 km/h limit commences just after the Footscray Road off-ramp on the southbound carriageway (heading towards Bolte Bridge). The 80km/h limit will remain to the West Gate Freeway (which is also 80km/h).

As part of the $1.39 billion upgrade to the Monash-CityLink-West Gate Freeway the on-ramp from Montague Street onto the West Gate Freeway has been fully closed.
The closure will be in place from Sunday 17 May at 10.00pm for approximately six months.

People attending events at Etihad Stadium can still get to and from the venue via a detour route.
To access the detour route, drivers should continue south on Montague Street past the closed on-ramp and turn left onto Normanby Road. The detour route will be clearly signposted and involves using Normanby Road, Clarendon Street, City Road and Power Street to access the M1 Freeway city-bound, or via Sturt Street to access Kings Way.
VicRoads recommends motorists familiarise themselves with the detour route before heading to the venue and leave a little extra time. Information is available at the venue for those unsure of where to go. As an alternative, consider using public transport to access the venue.
