SmartBus is a premium bus service that provides:
- more frequent services
- longer operating hours
- safer and easier access to buses
- a 'cross-town' service along major arterial roads
- connections to train stations, tram lines, schools, universities, hospitals, shopping centres and other activity centres.
VicRoads and the Department of Transport are preparing for new SmartBus services by improving bus stops along future SmartBus routes and undertaking bus priority work to make our roads more ‘bus friendly’.
