Q. I need to cancel my registration and get a refundA. You can get an on-the-spot cash refund for your cancelled registration if you attend a
Customer Service Centre and answer a few questions to confirm your identity as the registered operator of the vehicle. You must be the registered operator of the vehicle for us to process the refund. Alternatively, you can also get a refund by calling VicRoads on 13 11 71 and answering a few questions to confirm your identity. A refund cheque will then be sent to an address of your choice within 10 working days.
Q. I need replacement number plates
A. Visit your nearest Customer Service Centre or call us on 13 11 71 and we can replace your number plates free of charge and have them sent to an address of your choice. It will take up to three weeks for the number plates to be remade. You will need to answer a few questions to confirm you are the registered operator. If you have cancelled your vehicle’s registration you cannot attach the replacement plates to another vehicle without transferring the registration details. We can explain your options when you are speaking with us.
Q. I can’t afford a 12 month registration
A. Given the exceptional circumstances VicRoads can offer you a three month or six month registration. Visit your nearest Customer Service Centre or call us on 13 11 71 to organise your new payment option.
Q. I need a replacement registration label and certificate
A. We can issue you with a replacement label free of charge if you visit your nearest Customer Service Centre or call 13 11 71. You will need to answer a few questions to confirm that you are the registered operator of the vehicle.
Q. I’m eligible for a concession but don’t have my Pension or concession card
A. That’s okay. VicRoads will use the details we already have recorded on your account. If you didn’t have a concession card last time you transacted with us and do now we can verify your concession status on the spot.
Q. I want to transfer a vehicle but don’t have the original Roadworthy Certificate with signatures
A. Come and see us at your nearest Customer Service Centre or call us on 13 11 71 so we can explain the steps required and you can get the transfer organised as quickly as possible.
