Vehicles used and equipped specifically for combating outbreaks of fire can be registered at the primary producer rate, with no registration fee.

Vehicles must be certified by the Country Fire Authority (CFA) as a motor vehicle specifically equipped for and exclusively used for combating outbreaks of fire.

The Application for Registration must be accompanied by a completed original Certificate of Authenticity issued by the Country Fire Authority.

Transportation Accident Commission (TAC) charges for primary producer fire fighting fees apply.

Vehicles used to assist a charitable or sporting body as defined in regulation 56 of the Road Safety Vehicles Regulations 2009. This definition applies provided the registered operator of the vehicle does so without fee or reward.
