VicRoads issues various permits to vehicle operators for vehicles to be used for specific purposes such as an organised car rally for vintage, veteran or street rod cars, carnivals, processions and moving an unregistered vehicle.

Club Permits allow an unregistered vehicle to be used on a highway during the period specified on the permit. A club permit can be purchased from VicRoads for use by vintage, veteran or classic cars during an organised rally.

Rally Permits cater for vehicles used in rallies organised by a VicRoads approved national motorsport organisation. The Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) is the only organisation approved by VicRoads at this stage.

Unregistered Vehicle Permits allow to you to drive an unregistered vehicle on a public road for restricted use and under specific guidelines.

Approved Car Club and Association Permit holders been authorised by VicRoads to operate under the Club Permit scheme for veteran, classic, historic and street rod vehicles.

Carnivals or Procession Permits will allow travel to, from and during the parade, and are endorsed with "Carnival Float".
