Requirements for changing company details vary according to the circumstance.
This page contains a listing of requirements that companies may be required to supply to VicRoads regarding such changes as a new address or a change of company name.

If you wish to change the address of a vehicle or boat registered in a company name, you will need to submit to VicRoads written notification that:
- is written on company letterhead showing ACN or featuring company seal
- contains the signature of the company director, secretary or authorised representative
- details the new residential or postal address for the company
- lists the vehicles and / or vessels affected, including for each:
- Registration number
- Make
- Model
- New residential, postal and / or garaged address details
(if different than the address details given for the company)
A company that wishes to change its registered name must receive from the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) a Certificate of Registration on Change of Name (Change of Name Certificate).
To change the company name with VicRoads, the following will need to be submitted:
- Change of Name Certificate
- Letter detailing all vehicles to be changed to the new name, including:
- Registration number
- Make
- Model
On presentation of a Change of Name Certificate, no fee or Motor Vehicle Duty will apply.
