South eastern suburbs projects

Significant arterial road, freeway and rail crossing improvements planned, underway or recently completed in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs include:

Clyde Road Upgrade, Berwick
A $55.6 million project to upgrade Clyde Road by providing two lanes in each direction between High Street and Kangan Drive, with intersection improvements and new walking and cycling paths.

Dingley Arterial, Keysborough
A $74.6 million State Government funded project to construct a new 3.5 km arterial road between Springvale Road and Perry Road to eliminate the missing link between Westall Road and the Dandenong Bypass.

Dingley Bypass - Moorabbin to Springvale South
A $155.7 million State Government funded project to construct a new 6.4km arterial road between Warrigal Road, Moorabbin and Westall Road, Springvale South.

Hallam Road Upgrade, Hampton Park
A $35 million State Government funded project to upgrade Hallam Road as a safer fully divided road for 2.5 km between Pound Road and Ormond Road at Hampton Park.

Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road duplication, Cranbourne
A $49 million State Government funded project to continue the duplication of Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road for 3.5 km between Pound Road and Thompson Road.

Pound Road Upgrade, Dandenong South
A $36.8 million State Government funded project to widen and upgrade Pound Road over the South Gippsland Freeway to the South Gippsland Highway, with intersection, signals and access ramp improvements. You can view photos of this project which was completed in August 2011.

South Gippsland Highway, Narre Warren to Lang Lang
Safety improvement works for 35km between Cranbourne-Narre Warren Road and the Bass Highway.


Springvale Road, Springvale - rail level crossing removal
A State Government funded project to eliminate the level crossing by lowering the rail lines under Springvale Road, with associated works to redevelop the rail station.
