Merging Safely
Merging is the joining of two lines of traffic into one line of traffic. It may occur where a marked traffic lane ends or where a road narrows.
Merging works best when both lines of traffic are moving at about the same speed, and when drivers are courteous and change speed slightly to allow an orderly joining of the two lines.
All drivers benefit from smoother and safer traffic flow when merging is done properly.
