Features
The upgrade to the Greensborough Bypass included the following features:

Bridge: Construction of a second bridge over the Plenty River.

Road widening and extension of lanes: Widening of the existing outbound lanes to include an emergency stopping lane between Plenty River and the Diamond Creek Road roundabout, and extension of the three outbound lanes approaching Diamond Creek Road roundabout.

Left-turn lanes: Construction of left-turn lanes with traffic lights from the Metropolitan Ring Road onto Greensborough Bypass.

Right-turn lanes: Extension of the citybound right-turn lanes on the Greensborough Bypass onto the Metropolitan Ring Road to address congestion and traffic delays.

Pedestrian and cycle path: Construction of an off-road path for pedestrians and cyclists for the full length of the works, including a crossing at Plenty River. The 1.9km path linked the existing path with Diamond Creek Road. It also continued along the north side and connected with the existing path opposite Macorna Street, along the Metropolitan Ring Road.
