A $13.6 million State Government funded project completed in April 2008 that extended the duplication of Kelletts Road for 2.2 km east from Taylors Lane to Napoleon Road at Rowville. The Napoleon Road roundabout was replaced with a signalised intersection.
- Two lanes in each direction divided by a centre median
- Traffic signals at Napoleon Road that replaced a roundabout
- Traffic signals at St Lawrence Way that replaced pedestrian signals at the Rowville Lakes Shopping Centre
- New on-road bicycle lanes
- Indented parallel parking bays on the southern side, between Taylors Lane and Goulburn Drive
- Street lighting and landscaping improvements
- Safer conditions for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians
- Reduced traffic congestion and delays
- Better facilities for cyclists
- Improved access to surrounding suburbs
Environmental studies had been completed with an environmental management plan developed and implemented to minimise construction impacts on the natural envionment.
VicRoads welcomed and encouraged feedback and queries from the community.
Community information was provided with letterdrops, newspaper advertisements and website updates. Notice boards to advise of current progress were in place at Rowville Lakes Shopping Centre and at the service station on the corner of Napoleon Road and Lakesfield Drive.
