North East Link, Greensborough to Bulleen
Planning and engineering investigations for a new road connection from the Metropolitan Ring Road at Greensborough to the Eastern Freeway at Bulleen. The North East Link will effectively complete Melbourne’s orbital freeway network, linking growth areas in the west, north and south-eastern suburbs. Any link would require tunnnelling to protect residential areas and to minimise environmental impacts on the Banyule Flats and Yarra River.
Plenty Road duplication, South Morang
A $17 million State Government funded project to extend the duplication of Plenty Road from Gordons Road Hawkstowe Parade
Construction start: mid 2010 Completion: late 2011
Length of works: 1.7km
A $25 million State Government funded project to duplicate the existing road and provide two lanes each way between Obeid Drive and Mitchells Lane, Sunbury.
