Northern suburbs projects

Significant arterial road and freeway improvements planned, underway or recently completed in Melbourne's northern suburbs include:

North East Link, Greensborough to Bulleen
Planning and engineering investigations for a new road connection from the Metropolitan Ring Road at Greensborough to the Eastern Freeway at Bulleen.  The North East Link will effectively complete Melbourne’s orbital freeway network, linking growth areas in the west, north and south-eastern suburbs. Any link would require tunnnelling to protect residential areas and to minimise environmental impacts on the Banyule Flats and Yarra River.

Plenty Road duplication, South Morang
