A $17 million State Government funded project to duplicate Plenty Road providing two lanes in each direction for 1.7km between Gordons Road and Hawkstowe Parade, South Morang.
Planning and pre-construction works are underway. Construction will start in 2010 with the project due for completion by late 2011.
The Plenty Road duplication is a key outer suburban road improvement project identified in the
Victorian Transport Plan.

Existing traffic lights at The Lakes Boulevard and Hawkestowe Parade upgraded

On-road bicycle lanes on both sides connecting to the existing Plenty Road bicycle lanes

A wide centre median to provide for possible extra lanes if needed in the future

Better traffic flow along Plenty Road for current and future traffic and population growth

Information on this project is on display at a number of local venues including the Mill Park Library and Whittlesea City Council offices until Friday 4 December 2009. Feedback forms are available to provide comment at these locations and can also be downloaded here.
VicRoads welcomes input and feedback from the local community. There will be ongoing consultation with all stakeholders including Whittlesea City Council, residents, community groups, special interest groups and businesses.
