Geelong Ring Road - Corio to Waurn Ponds

Project overview
The Geelong Ring Road opened to traffic through to Waurn Ponds in June 2009. It provides a 23km freeway link between Corio and Waurn Ponds, skirting Geelong's western outskirts.

By using the Ring Road drivers can now avoid up to 31 sets of traffic lights, with a travel time of 15 minutes compared with the  25 - 60 minute trip through Geelong.

The Ring Road between Corio and Waurn Ponds was completed at a cost of $380 million.

In total $618 million has been committed to the project and for future future sections, with funding provided by the Victorian and Australian Governments.
