 Kororoit Creek Road duplication, Altona 

Project overview 
A $48.5 million State Government funded project to duplicate a 2.1 km section of  Kororoit Creek Road between Grieve Parade and Millers Road, Altona and to remove the existing railway level crossing. A new bridge will carry Kororoit Creek Road over the rail line.

The project will complete a fully divided route along Kororoit Creek Road between Laverton North and Williamstown.

Major construction will start in early 2010 with works scheduled for completion in late 2011.

  • Two lanes each way between Grieve Parade and Millers Road
  • A new rail bridge to take the road over railway lines
  • Minor upgrade of intersections at Grieve Parade and Millers Road
  • Upgrade of existing Kororoit Creek bridge crossing

Current progress and traffic impacts
As at November 2009 planning, preliminary design and service reloction works have commenced. A contract for construction is expected to be awarded in late 2009, with major works to commence in early 2010. 

Consultation the key stakeholders, businesses and the local community is continuing.
