The
Road Design Notes supplement the VicRoads Road Design Guidelines, namely Parts
2, 3, 5, 7 and 9.
These Design Notes specify VicRoads individual
requirements regarding a range of road design issues including road furniture.
The Austroads Guide to Road Design was released on 1
July 2009. VicRoads will transition to using the Austroads Guide as its primary design reference
by 1 July 2010. During the transition
period, VicRoads specific supporting information to the Austroads Guide (possibly
including much of the information in the current Design Notes) will be prepared.
During this
transition period, VicRoads’ Design Guidelines and Road Design Notes will take
precedence over the Austroads Guide.
