  • The Controlled Area (Melbourne Metroplitan and the Mornington Peninsula)
  • Geelong Accident Allocation Area

The Controlled Area encompasses the metropolitan area of Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.

Tow trucks in the Controlled Area may attend an accident scene for vehicles with a gross vehicle mass less than four tonnes only after receiving an allocation number. Allocation numbers are given by the Accident Allocation Centre, which is managed under contract to VicRoads. For past allocations, see Tow truck accident allocations.
