From Monday 16 January work will start north of the existing construction site, west of Moonee Ponds Creek, to increase water storage in the event of a flood. Access along the shared user path will be maintained. Some vehicles may occasionally access the site via the shared user path and staff will be onsite to give priority to pedestrians and cyclists.

Two vehicle access tracks will cross the shared user path north and south of the Katrina Drive Pedestrian Bridge. Staff will be onsite to give priority to pedestrians and cyclists.

A construction site has been set up on the left of the M80 Ring Road Altona bound. Works are taking place near the shared user path that runs from Moonee Ponds Creek to Gowanbrae. The path will be narrow in some areas and vehicles may access the site via the shared user path.

Fencing and concrete barriers have been installed next to the shared user path south of M80 Ring Road Altona bound at Gowanbrae. We encourage users to slow down, dismount and walk through this section of path.

The shared user path from Bush Mews to Coventry Street, Gowanbrae will be closed until mid next year.

Upgrade works have now started on the south eastern side of the M80 Ring Road / Sydney Road interchange in Fawkner.

To ensure the safety of path users during construction, a small section of the shared user path between Sydney Road and Kathryn Street pedestrian bridge will be temporarily closed for a six month period from Tuesday 6 December 2011. A short detour route will be available via Hedley Street and Eva Court. Access to the pedestrian bridge will still be available. The path will be reopened for the Christmas period.

Works will start to widen the M80 Ring Road Altona bound between Sydney Road and Merlynston Creek early in 2012. In the interest of public safety, the shared user path at this location will be closed temporarily. A detour route for pedestrians and cyclists is currently being finalised. More information will be published soon.
