Red tape reduction

The Victorian Government has set VicRoads a target to reduce red tape costs for business and the community.

On 14 December 2017, the Minister for Roads and Road Safety, the Hon Luke Donnellan MP, issued a Statement of Expectations (SOE) for VicRoads regarding the Government’s Regulatory Reform Program to reduce red tape.  View a copy of that Statement  of Expection [PDF,  7MB]

The SOE sets out the Minister's expectations of VicRoads to reduce red tape costs for business and the community. It outlines some key improvements and targets aimed at promoting greater efficiency and effectiveness in the administration and enforcement of regulation. The Statement requires VicRoads to report on progress towards these improvements and targets annually.

VicRoads is required to a publish Statement of Expectations and a response within three months of the Statement being issued. The VicRoads response is available here - VR Response Letter to Statement of Expectations 29 Jan 2018 [PDF 6Mb]
