Victoria’s Port Low Loader Scheme network map shows approved arterial, Port of Melbourne and Melbourne City Council-managed roads in the precinct that Class 3 heavy vehicles transporting flat racks and open top containers can use. Unlike gazetted networks, annual permits, obtained from the NHVR, are required to operate heavy vehicles on this network, regardless of whether the desired route appears on the map.
Roads shown on the network as approved (green) or conditionally approved (orange) are pre-approved for annual permit access, as are all signed detours or routes along which you might be directed by an authorised officer.
Roads not shown as green or orange, with the exception of signed detours, require road manager approval for access by permit.
Note: Operators must comply with mass and height clearance restrictions as indicated by symbols (red dots for mass and orange diamonds for height)
