Accredited traffic management companies

The traffic management industry plays a pivotal role in establishing work zones that prioritise the safety of workers, road users and local communities as well as comply to regulations.

The new Temporary Traffic Management Accreditation (Accreditation) program aims to maintain high levels of safety and compliance at road worksites. It introduced three new traffic management roles and categories of roads based on risk and traffic volume to ensure the only companies with suitable experience are accredited to carry out traffic management activities on the road network.

The Accreditation program replaces the previous temporary traffic management prequalification scheme in February 2023. It is required for companies applying for Department of Transport and Planning (DTP)/VicRoads issued Memorandum of Authorisation (MoA) permits or working on roads managed by DTP/VicRoads, which are typically the more complex roads with higher levels of safety risks.
