Ballarat Customer Hub

Our VicRoads Customer Service Centre in Wendouree will be relocating to the new Ballarat GovHub at 101 Armstrong St North. The Wendouree facility, at 88 Learmonth Rd, will become known as the Wendouree Ballarat Testing and Inspection Centre.

About the Ballarat GovHub

The Ballarat GovHub (External link) brings together the following departments and agencies in the one place: VicRoads, Regional Development Victoria, State Revenue Office, Service Victoria, Consumer Affairs Victoria, Department of Education and Training and Department of Justice and Community Safety. 

The VicRoads Customer Hub Ballarat (External link) opens 10 May and will operate from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. 

Services available at the Ballarat Customer Hub

All VicRoads services except for drive tests and vehicle inspections will be available at the Ballarat GovHub. VicRoads will be the only agency at the GovHub offering customer services. All other departments will be administrative offices only.

The VicRoads Customer Hub Ballarat is located at 101 Armstrong St North, Ballarat. 

Wendouree VicRoads Customer Service Centre

When the new Ballarat Customer Hub opens our VicRoads Customer Service Centre in Wendouree will be referred to as the Ballarat Testing and Inspection Centre. The centre will be open from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

The Ballarat Testing and Inspection Centre will offer the following services:

  • drive tests
  • vehicle inspections including heavy vehicles
  • clearing Defect Notices without a Roadworthy Certificate

Customers can visit the VicRoads Customer Hub Ballarat for all other general services and transactions.

Is the GovHub and Ballarat Customer Hub the same place?

The GovHub brings together different departments and agencies at the one location, including VicRoads. VicRoads will operate from the new site at our Ballarat Customer Hub office.

Is there customer parking at the VicRoads Customer Hub Ballarat?

There is no onsite customer car parking. Parking is available at multiple areas in Central Ballarat. Please follow relevant parking signs.

Are there public transport options?

There are public transport options in Ballarat. The VicRoads Customer Hub Ballarat is located near the Ballarat Train Station and bus stops.

What payment options will be available?

All payment options, including cash and EFTPOS will be available at both the Ballarat Customer Hub and Ballarat Testing and Inspection Centre.

If I’m at the Ballarat Customer Hub for my Hazard Perception Test and I pass, can I make an appointment for my Drive Test over the counter?

Drive test appointments for the Licence Testing Centre can be made at the Ballarat Customer Hub, online or via our call centre on 13 11 71.

I have a heavy vehicle, where can I get a work diary from?

Work diaries will be available from both the Ballarat Customer Hub and Ballarat Testing and Inspection Centre. Work Diaries are also available at the Mobil Service Station Centres on the Western Freeway at Ballan.

Where do I go if I don’t need my car inspected?

If your vehicle doesn’t need an inspection appointment you can complete all your related transactions at the new Ballarat Customer Hub.

What safety measures are in place?

Will the Wendouree Customer Service Centre stay open?

Yes, our Wendouree VicRoads Customer Service Centre will remain open, however the only services provided will be licence testing and vehicle inspections. The centre will be referred to as the Ballarat Testing and Inspection Centre.

I have a heavy vehicle, where can I get a work diary from?

Where do I get a defect notice cleared from if the vehicle needs to be inspected? Do I need to make an appointment? 

Defect Notices that require an inspection will be cleared at the Ballarat Testing and Inspection Centre. You don’t need to make an appointment. 

I am a vehicle dealer, I will be at the Ballarat Testing and Inspection Centre to conduct a registration inspection, can I have some transfers processed while I am there like I used to?

No. Dealers should use the dealer online process or conduct these types of transactions at the Ballarat Customer Hub. Any additional registration appointments should also be booked via online or by phone 13 11 71.
