Bell Street maintenance works between Coburg and Bulleen

04 December 2018

During December, we’re restoring the road on Bell Street between Coburg and Bulleen.

What we are doing

We’ll be completing asphalting works on Bell Street between Service Street, Coburg and Bulleen Road, Bulleen.

This work will involve restoring the structural layer of the road, and will include asphalting and traffic management at smaller sections along the road.

When to expect us

Our crews will be working from 9pm – 5am on up to 14 nights from Sunday, 9 December 2018 until January 2019.

Where we’re working

We’re working at a number of contained locations along Bell Street between Coburg and Bulleen, including:

  • Service Street – Gilmour Street
  • Barrow Street – Belgrave Street

  • Intersection of Bell Street and Gilbert Road
  • Ruby Street – Belgrove Street
  • Intersection of Bell Street and Albert Street
  • Chifley Drive and Quinn Street

Heidelberg West

  • Intersection of Bell Street, Liberty Parade and Wilkinson Crescent
  • Wilkinson Crescent between Liberty Parade and Oriel Road
  • Bell Street between Skeffington Street and McGrath Street

  • Banksia Street between Studley Road and Cape Street
  • Intersection of Banksia Street and Rosanna Road
  • Banksia Street east of The Boulevard

  • Templestowe Road between Bridge Street / Bulleen Road and Rosemont Drive

How will these works impact you?

During these improvements:

  • Bell Street will remain open to traffic, but may have changed traffic conditions
  • One direction of Bell Street may be fully or partially closed between a small location where asphalting work is being carried out. During lane closures, there will be a signed diversion in place, where motorists will be able to use the other side of the road to continue to travel through the area. This will be facilitated by traffic management crews.
  • There may be signed detours in place for local streets intersecting with work areas along Bell Street
  • There will be a reduced speed limit during works to ensure safety of crews and motorists
  • Local property access will be maintained with help from on-site traffic controllers
  • Medium-high level noise, vibration and dust is expected
  • We’ll monitor on-site traffic conditions and will adjust work times, if required, to minimise impact on the traffic network.

These works have been planned to occur at night outside peak traffic periods to ensure the safety of work crews and minimise traffic impacts.

We’ll have extra signage and traffic management crews on site to help direct traffic throughout these works.

We thank you for your patience while we complete this maintenance.
