Maintenance works on Queens Way St Kilda

13 November 2019

We are strengthening the St Kilda Junction tram bridge, to improve efficiency on one of Melbourne’s busiest tram routes.

What we are doing

Our crews will be working under the St Kilda Junction tram bridge, between Chapel Street and St Kilda Road. To see the exact location of the works, check out the online map (External link)

This maintenance work is necessary to improve efficiency on one of Melbourne’s busiest tram routes.

When to expect us

Our crews will be working from 17 November – 18 December, between 8:30pm and 5:30am.

How will these works impact you?

During these maintenance works, there will be:

  • Nightly closures of the inbound lanes on Queens Way, from Sunday to Thursday. Traffic will be diverted to Chapel Street, Union Street and Punt Road during this time.
  • Traffic controllers and signs will be in place to safely guide you through the detour. If you’re traveling through the area, please watch out for our crews and drive safely.

Works are subject to dry weather conditions, and if these conditions do not allow works to go ahead, they may need to be rescheduled.
