Traffic Alert Run Melbourne 2019 road closures

26 July 2019

More than 20,000 runners will flood CBD streets on Sunday 28 July, for the 12th annual Run Melbourne.

Road closures will be set up from 4am for three events – the 5K, 10K and Half-Marathon, including parts of:

  • Spencer Street and Clarendon Street, from Collins Street to Normanby Road
  • St Kilda Road, between Toorak Road and Flinders Street
  • Flinders Street westbound, between Spring Street and Queensbridge Street
  • Batman Avenue, between Flinders Street and Olympic Boulevard
  • and most roads around the Royal Botanic Gardens

All roads re-open by 1pm.

Drivers planning to travel through South Melbourne, Southbank, East Melbourne and the CBD on Sunday morning should allow extra time and consider finding an alternative route to avoid the area.

Whether participating or supporting, we suggest taking public transport where possible, as parking will be extremely limited.

Trams along Flinders, Collins, Bourke and William streets will be impacted until 12.15pm, and buses will replace services on Route 12 along Clarendon Street, from Flinders Street to Albert Road.

The full list of road closures is available at events.solemotive.com/run-melbourne/event-information/#rmfaqs
