Bell Street, Heidelberg Heights maintenance works

We’re completing vital maintenance work on Bell Street between Studley Road and Waterdale Road. 

What we are doing

To keep Bell Street safe and strong for the thousands of drivers who rely on it every day, we’re undertaking important resurfacing work.

When to expect us

Our crews will be working nightly from 9:30pm to 5am from Monday 7 December until the morning of Thursday 10 December.  

There may be some delays due to the detours in place – we ask that you plan ahead and allow more time to reach your destination. 

Monday 7 December

• Day time: Bell Street open as normal
• Night time: Closure of Bell Street in the westbound direction between Studley Road and Waterdale Road from 9:30pm until 5am
• Night time: Lane closure in the eastbound direction on Bell Street between Studley Road and Upper-Heidelberg Road from 9:30pm until 5am

Tuesday 8 December

• Day time: Bell Street open as normal 
• Night time: Closure of Bell Street in the westbound direction between Studley Road and Waterdale Road from 9:30pm until 5am
• Lane closure in the eastbound direction on Bell Street between Studley Road and Upper-Heidelberg Road from 9:30pm until 5am

Wednesday 9 December

• Day time: Bell Street open as normal 
• Night time: Closure of Bell Street in the westbound direction between Studley Road and Waterdale Road from 9:30pm until 5am
• Lane closure in the eastbound direction on Bell Street between Studley Road and Upper-Heidelberg Road from 9:30pm until 5am

Detour

• For drivers normally using Bell Street to travel south toward Ivanhoe, detour signs will be in place on Upper-Heidelberg Road, Livingstone Street, Oriel Road 
• For drivers normally using Bell Street to travel north toward Heidelberg West  detour signs will be in place on Studley Road, Burgundy St, Upper Heidelberg Road, Waiora Road, Southern Road, Waterdale Road

How will these works impact you?

During these road works, there’ll be:

• Full closure in the westbound direction on Bell Street between Studley Road and Waterdale Road. 
• Lane closure in the eastbound direction on Bell Street between Studley Road and Upper-Heidelberg Road
• Detours will be in place 
• To keep everyone safe, we will have safe speeds in place near the work zone
• Some noise, vibration and dust from the works.
