Hoddle Street, Clifton Hill maintenance works

We’re completing important maintenance work on Hoddle Street between Queens Parade and Noone Street, Clifton Hill.

What we are doing

To keep Hoddle Street safe and strong for the thousands of drivers who rely on it every day, we’re undertaking important resurfacing work at night time while traffic volumes are lower.

When to expect us

Our crews will be working each night between 10pm to 5:30am from Wednesday 25 November to Thursday 3 December (excluding Friday and Saturday night). 

Wednesday 25 November

  • Day time: Hoddle Street will be open as normal 
  • Night time: Hoddle Street closed between Queens Parade and Noone Street, from 10pm to 5:30am. Drivers are asked to follow the signed detours that will be in place. 

Thursday 26 November 

  • Day time: Hoddle Street will be open as normal 
  • Night time: Hoddle Street closed between Queens Parade and Noone Street, from 10pm to 5:30am. 

Sunday 29 November 

  • Day time: Hoddle Street will be open as normal 
  • Night time: Hoddle Street closed between Queens Parade and Noone Street, from 10pm to 5:30am. 

Monday 30 November

  • Day time: Hoddle Street will be open as normal
  • Night time: Hoddle Street closed between Queens Parade and Noone Street, from 10pm to 5:30am. 

Tuesday 1 December 

  • Day time: Hoddle Street will be open as normal 
  • Night time: Hoddle Street closed between Queens Parade and Noone Street, from 10pm to 5:30am. 

Wednesday 2 December

  • Day time: Hoddle Street will be open as normal 
  • Night time: Hoddle Street closed between Queens Parade and Noone Street, from 10pm to 5:30am.

Thursday 3 December 

  • Day time: Hoddle Street will be open as normal 
  • Night time: Hoddle Street closed between Queens Parade and Noone Street, from 10pm to 5:30am.

Detour

During night works, drivers usually travelling northbound on Hoddle Street beyond the Eastern Freeway will be detoured via Hoddle Street, Johnston Street, Nicholson Street, Alexandra Parade and Queens Parade.

Drivers usually entering Hoddle Street from Heidelberg Road or Queens Parade/High Street to travel southbound will be detoured via Queens Parade, George Street, Alexandra Parade, Nicholson Street and Johnston Street.

Drivers usually entering Hoddle Street from Queens Parade (north-east bound) to travel southbound will be detoured via High Street, Westgarth Street, Merri Parade, St Georges Road, Brunswick Road, Alexandra Parade, Nicholson Street and Johnston Street.

How will these works impact you?

During these maintenance works, there’ll be:

  • Nightly closures of Hoddle Street between Queens Parade and Noone Street
  • Signed detours will be in place for northbound and southbound drivers
  • To keep everyone safe, we will have safe speeds in place near the work zone
  • There may be some noise, vibration and dust from the works. Works are subject to weather conditions.
