Albert Street, Preston maintenance works

We’re completing resurfacing maintenance on Albert Street between Murray Street and Dorrington Avenue.

What we’re doing

To keep Albert Street safe and strong for the thousands of drivers who rely on it every day, we’re undertaking important resurfacing maintenance work. 

When to expect us 

Sunday 14 February & Monday 15 February:  

• Daytime: Albert Street open as normal 
• Night-time from 8pm to 6am: Albert Street carriageway closure in the northbound direction between Murray Street and Dorrington Avenue  
• Drivers are asked to follow the detours that will be in place. 

Detour 

During work at night, the primary detour route will be via Murray Road and Plenty Road or via Albert Street, Bell Street and Plenty Road.    

How will these works impact you?

During these maintenance works, there’ll be:

• Northbound carriageway closure of Albert Street between Murray Street and Dorrington Avenue Sunday 14 February and Monday 15 February during the night-time 
• Detours will be in place 
• To keep everyone safe, we will have safe speeds in place near the work zone
• Some noise, vibration and dust from the works
