Carlisle Street, St Kilda maintenance works

We’re completing resurfacing maintenance on Carlisle Street between Nepean Highway and Chapel Street.

What we’re doing

To keep Carlisle Street safe and strong for the thousands of drivers who rely on it every day, we’re undertaking important resurfacing maintenance work. 

When to expect us 

Our crews will be working from Tuesday 16 February to Thursday 18 February. Carlisle Street will be closed in both directions between Nepean Highway and Chapel Street between 8pm - 5:30am. 

Tuesday 16 February - Thursday 18 February:  

  • Daytime: Carlisle Street open as normal 
  • Night-time from 8pm to 5:30am: Carlisle Street closed in both directions between Nepean Highway and Chapel Street 
  • Drivers are asked to follow the signed detours that will be in place. 

Detour 

During work at night, signed detours will be in place along Inkerman Street and Chapel Street and Nepean Highway.   

How will these works impact you? 

During these maintenance works, there’ll be: 

  • Full road closure of Carlisle Street between Nepean Highway and Chapel Street Tuesday 16 February to Thursday 18 February during the night-time 
  • Signed detours will be in place 
  • To keep everyone safe, we will have safe speeds in place near the work zone
  • Some noise, vibration and dust from the works 

Works are subject to weather conditions.
