Works are continuing in the Dandenongs to clear debris and ensure the safety of all road users and the local community.
Partial and full road closures are required along Mount Dandenong Tourist Road from Monday, July 5 to Wednesday, July 7 as AusNet undertake hazardous tree removal works near Sassafras Primary School.
When to expect us
Works will be taking place from Monday, 5 July to Wednesday, 7 July.
A partial road closure along Mount Dandenong Tourist Road at Mason Grove is required on Tuesday, 6 July from 8:30am to 5pm with minor delays expected, so please plan ahead and allow for extra travel time.
A full road closure along Mount Dandenong Tourist Road at Mason Grove is required on Wednesday, July 7 from 8:30am to 5pm with heavy machinery on site dismantling large tree hazards.
Moving through the area
Mount Dandenong Tourist Road will be closed to all traffic on Wednesday, July 7 to allow access for heavy machinery and keep crews safe.
A detour will be available for local traffic via Sherbrooke Road, Monbulk Road and Olinda–Monbulk Road.
The 688 and 694 bus services will be affected by this closure, detouring to Sassafras from the Montrose CFA via Canterbury Road, Liverpool Road and Mountain Highway. A shuttle bus will also be in operation between Montrose CFA and north of Mason Grove, servicing the townships of Olinda, Mount Dandenong and Kalorama.
