The Victorian Government is delivering important road maintenance work on approximately three kilometres of the Hume Freeway in Epping, between Cooper Street and Craigieburn Road East.
What we’re doing
To keep the Hume Freeway safe for the community and the thousands of road users who rely on it every day, we are undertaking vital road resurfacing works on the northbound lanes of the Hume Freeway, between Cooper Street and Craigieburn Road East.
When to expect us
Crews will be on site from 8pm to 6am from Tuesday 19 April to the morning of Friday 29 April 2022, excluding Friday and Saturday nights and public holidays.
We will be working at night to minimise traffic disruption and to keep our crews safe.
Dates and times are subject to change due to weather conditions.
What to expect
From 8pm Tuesday 19 April to 6am Friday 29 April the northbound lanes of the Hume Freeway will be closed between Cooper Street and Craigieburn Road East.
During the closure there will be a detour in place via Cooper Street and Sydney Road/Hume Highway.

During works major delays of up to 15 minutes are expected. Please plan ahead and allow for extra travel time when in the area.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we carry out these important maintenance works.
