Western Roads Upgrade – Hopkins Road maintenance

Important maintenance work is underway on Hopkins Road in Truganina, as part of the Department of Transport and Planning’s commitment to maintain roads and structures in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Important maintenance work is underway on Hopkins Road in Truganina, as part of the Department of Transport and Planning’s commitment to maintain roads and structures in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Maintenance works will be delivered by Netflow and will involve asphalt resurfacing and line marking to restore the condition of the road surface.

Crews will work at night on 30 January to 12 February 2024 at 8pm to 5am, excluding Friday and Saturday nights.

What to expect during works

  • Road and lane closures on Hopkins Road in both directions
  • Detours for northbound traffic will be in place on Boundary Road and Robinsons Road to Western Freeway
  • Detours for southbound traffic will be in place via Greigs Road, Leakes Road, Western Freeway, Robinsons Road to Boundary Road
  • Travel delays up to 25 minutes
  • No on-street parking in the work area
  • Periods of high noise levels, vibrations, and dust – we’ll work to minimise these impacts as much as possible.
  • Reduced speeds in the work area to keep crews and road users safe
  • Safety lights within the work area
  • Traffic controllers will be on site to help road users travel around the work area safely.
