Carrum to Warburton trail, Bayswater to Lilydale link

We're improving the route for pedestrians and cyclists travelling from the bayside suburbs towards Victoria’s north east by constructing a 10.3km shared use path from Bayswater to Lilydale which will provide the missing link in the 90km Carrum-Warburton trail.

Project update – August 2018

As part of the $7.4 million project funded by the Victorian Government, works along the Melbourne Water Pipe Track and the Healesville Freeway Reservation are now complete. The shared user path is now open to the public from Norton Road through the existing reserves to Hull Road.

Work will commence in September on the section of trail along Hull Road to Lakeview Drive, through Lakeview Drive to the Hull Road Wetlands connecting to the existing off road path that travels to Lilydale Lake. The SUP then continues from Lilydale Lake (Dam Wall), through John Street, the Community Lion's Park and connects onto the newly completed pedestrian operated signals on Maroondah Highway (Main Street).

Limited wayfinding signs to be installed north of Maroondah Highway to direct cyclists to the Warburton Rail Trail.Works are expected to be complete in March 2019.
