Carrum to Warburton trail, Bayswater to Lilydale link

We've added the missing link in the 90km Carrum-Warburton trail.  The 10.3km shared use path from Bayswater to Lilydale improves safety and travel options for pedestrians and cyclists travelling from the bayside suburbs towards Victoria’s north east.

Project update – August 2019

Works on the $7.4 million-dollar project to construct the Bayswater to Lilydale link in the Carrum to Warburton trail were completed in April 2019.

Cyclists can now travel safely along 10.3km of shared path from Bayswater Road, through Melbourne Water Pipe Track Reserve and Healesville Freeway Reserve to Hull Road and then along Hull Road and Lakeview Drive to the Hull Road wetlands.

The new path then connects to the existing off-road path that travels to Lillydale Lake and continues through John Street, Community Lion’s Park and Maroondah Highway (Main Street) in Lilydale.

Signs have been installed north of Maroondah Highway to direct cyclists to the Warburton Rail Trail.

We would like to thank the community for their patience during works.
