Coburns Road intersection safety improvements, Melton

We’ve improved safety for all road users travelling along Coburns Road, Melton.

Project update - July 2021

We’ve completed works on this $2.36 million project, including:

Asphalting and line-marking at-

  • the Coburns Road and Barries Road intersection
  • the on ramps onto the Western Freeway

A controlled right turn at the Coburns Road/Barries Road intersection on the east and west approaches, during off peak periods

This means drivers turning right onto Western Freeway will now have a right-turn arrow, to allow them to travel through the intersection safely.

Safer Roads

This project is funded by Towards Zero – Victoria’s plan to ensure no one is seriously injured or killed on our roads. As a part of Towards Zero, we’re upgrading traffic signals at high-risk intersections across Melbourne to improve safety and traffic flow on our road network.
