We've delivered a series of road improvements for the East Werribee Employment Precinct, on behalf of the Metropolitan Planning Authority.

Project update - October 2016

Sneydes Rd & Princes Freeway interchange

Construction: completed
Scheduled completion: October 2016

The upgrade features the construction of a new interchange on the Princes Freeway at Sneydes Road, including on and off ramps for easier access towards Melbourne and Geelong. The works also included the removal of the existing bridge.

We also lifted and installed 70 bridge beams over the Princes Freeway, as part of construction for the new Sneydes Road interchange.

Sneydes Road & Hoppers Lane intersection upgrade

Construction: Completed

Safety improvements for this section included:
  • a new set of traffic lights
  • additional lanes
  • a widened pedestrian path 
  • green lights for cyclists to help them safely navigate the intersection.  

Sneydes Road widening

Construction: completed
Sneydes Road was widened to improve safety and to allow for the higher traffic demand the interchange will create. The traffic signals were also upgraded.

Sneydes Road & Princes Highway intersection upgrade

Construction: completed
Scheduled completion: early 2016

Safety improvements for this section included:
  • a new set of traffic lights
  • additional lanes
  • a widened pedestrian path
  • green lights for cyclists to help them safely navigate the intersection. 

Princes Highway, Old Geelong Road and Hoppers Lane intersection upgrade

Construction: completed
Scheduled completion: early 2016

Safety improvements for this section included:
  • additional lanes
  • a new pedestrian crossing for easier access to nearby medical facilities, schools and Hoppers Crossing train station.

Project benefits

The project has:

  • improved traffic flow in and around Point Cook by providing direct access to the Princes Freeway  from Sneydes Road
  • reduced traffic pressure on nearby roads including Palmer Road, Forsyth Road and Point Cook Road.
