Kings Road and Taylors Road intersection upgrade, Delahey

We’re upgrading the Kings Road and Taylors Road intersection in Delahey to make it safer and improve traffic flow.

Project update - November 2017

The new Kings and Taylors Roads intersection is taking shape.

We’ve relocated essential underground services including gas, phone and water connections, and works are well underway on widening Kings Road.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be starting work on widening Taylors Road, before removing the roundabout and installing the new traffic lights, bicycle lanes and footpaths.

We’re on track to switch on the new traffic lights in December 2017.

Project background

Long queues at the roundabout of Kings Road and Taylors Road are prompting drivers to take unnecessary risks to enter the intersection.

About the project

Replacing the existing roundabout with traffic lights will reduce traffic queues and improve safety by providing a more controlled intersection.

The $7.3 million upgrade will improve traffic flow on Kings Road and Taylors Road and reduce travel times, particularly during the busy morning and afternoon peak periods.
