The Victorian Government is upgrading the shared user path along the M80 from the EJ Whitten Bridge to Dodds Road.
Project update
We are working with stakeholders to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with a Cultural Heritage Management Plan. The timelines for this project have been impacted by COVID-19, with works expected to recommence in May 2022.
Project background
The Department of Transport, Parks Victoria and Brimbank Park are working together to upgrade the shared user path in the area, which will give many people in the surrounding suburbs another option to cycle or walk through natural parkland and green space.
Project details
We will:
- Building a brand new 1.1km path along the M80 from EJ Whitten Bridge to Dodds Road
- Remove the old path, once the new path has been constructed
- Improve amenity for everyone in the area, with the undertaking of a routine clean-up of the sediment pond near the old path
Next steps
We will ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Management Plan for this project.
Construction is planned to recommence in May 2022 and is expected to be completed by the end of August 2022.
