M80 Shared user path, Keilor East

The Victorian Government is upgrading the shared user path along the M80 from the EJ Whitten Bridge to Dodds Road.

Project update

Works recommenced in late September 2022.

All planned works have been approved and updated in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Management Plan for the project.

Project background

The Department of Transport, Parks Victoria and Brimbank Park are working together to upgrade the shared user path in the area, which will give many people in the surrounding suburbs another option to cycle or walk through natural parkland and green space.

Project details

We will:

  • Building a brand new 1.1km path along the M80 from EJ Whitten Bridge to Dodds Road
  • Remove the old path, once the new path has been constructed
  • Improve amenity for everyone in the area, with the undertaking of a routine clean-up of the sediment pond near the old path

Next steps

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of December 2022.

To minimise disruption, access to the existing path will be maintained throughout construction. Once the new path is complete, works will begin on removing the existing path.
