New McMahons Creek pedestrian bridge

As part of the $63 million School and Community Safety Program, the Victorian Government has committed $754,000 to replacing the McMahons Creek pedestrian bridge near Woods Point Road.

About the project

The old pedestrian bridge was decommissioned in 2017 after the structure was deemed unsafe. The community have previously expressed concerns about pedestrian safety at this location and have advocated for a replacement bridge.

The reopened bridge will ensure pedestrians can safely cross the Creek separate from traffic lanes and improve access to the local Reefton Hotel.

The design and delivery of the new McMahons Creek bridge will be progressed by Yarra Ranges Shire Council.
