Rayhur Street roundabout works - Westall Station

We’re building a new roundabout at the intersection of Westall Service Road and Rayhur Street in Clayton South.

Project Update - June 2020

Works are now complete on the new roundabout and retaining wall structure at the intersection of Westall Service Road and Rayhur Street in Clayton South.

This important road upgrade has allowed bus route 704 to be extended to service Westall Railway Station with more buses running more often, including weekend services.

We’d like to thank the community for their patience while we delivered these important works.

Background

Rayhur Street provides direct access to Westall Railway Station and the Clayton Business Precinct. To better service this key activity centre, we've built a new roundabout to allow bus Route 704 to extend to Westall Railway Station.

About the project

We’ve installed a new roundabout and retaining wall structure at the intersection of Westall Service Road and Rayhur Street to extend the Route 704 bus service to Westall Railway Station.

Four new bus stops have also been installed along the 704 bus route.

New bus timetables came in to effect from 17 May 2020 to reflect the changes to the 704 bus route.

For further information regarding the changes to bus Route 704, visit the PTV website.

Benefits

  • Building the new roundabout will provide passengers on the Route 704 bus more convenient and safer access to Westall Railway Station.
  • This upgrade will enable us to run more Route 704 services, including later services on weekdays and more services on weekends.
  • These important works will improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and all bus and train passengers in the area.
